Tech giant Apple has announced a range of futuristic products today. The company has introduced the “future of the smartphone” at an Apple event.
Apple has officially released iPhone X, iPhone 8 and Watch 3 today. As rumoured, company’s visionary iPhone X lacks the Home button. For the first time, Apple continues to sport the all glass exterior in its flagship device. Here are highlights from the Apple event.
Apple fans are pronouncing the iPhone X as the “iPhone 10”. Apple has announced the retail tag of the device at Rs 89,000. The iPhone X sports bezel-less 5.8-inch Retina display. The company has managed to design a beautiful, borderless display for the iPhone X. The smartphone has no home button. For the first time in its history, Apple has removed the physical button from the iPhone X.
The major attraction in iPhone X is the borderless display. The front of the iPhone X is only display and glass. Apple has designed the curves beautifully merging into the phone’s glass body. Apple has introduced Face ID to unlock the device. You can simply look at the TrueDepth camera and swipe up to unlock your iPhone X.
Dual 12MP cameras ensure the best photography results with iPhone X. Apple claims that A11 Bionic chip is the fastest microprocessor designed by Apple. The processor is capable of 600 billion operations per second. Apple will start shipping the iPhone X from November 3rd.
iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
The company has released the processor of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. iPhone 8 Plus is close to the iPhone X without Face ID and Home Button. Both 8 and 8 Plus sport same wireless charging support as iPhone X. Both the phones have 12 MP lens with larger and faster sensor as compared to iPhone 7. iPhone 8 Plus have the same 12 MP sensor with wide-angle and telephoto lens.
Apple has packed the same A11 bionic chip in iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. The three-core GPU offers 30 per cent improvement in graphics performance. Apple will offer the iPhone 8 starting from Rs 64,000 and iPhone 8 Plus from Rs 73,000. Both the devices will be available in Silver, Space Gray, and Gold Finish colour options.
Apple has added the much-anticipated cellular connectivity in Watch series 3. Jeff Williams, COO of Apple demonstrated making a call with new Watch at the event. The new watch is the same size as Apple Watch 2 but, comparatively thicker. Apple has integrated an electronic Sim option to keep the size smaller. With the cellular connectivity, Watch 3 adds more use cases and opportunities for developers working on wearable technologies.
